RED BANK — The trainer of former chess world champion Boris Spassky will take on 16 challengers simultaneously Saturday.
The Monmouth Chess School and Club will the exhibition as part of the Masters Special Event Series from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday at the YMCA Children's Cultural Center, 51 Monmouth St.
The exhibition will feature Dr. Anatoly Volovich, two-time winner of the prestigious Moscow Championship and more recently, the 2007 New Jersey State Championship. Volovich, who also was trainer of world champion Spassky and member of the elite masters of the Russian School of Chess, will participate in a 16-board simultaneous exhibition.
